This is a GREAT prize, for the winners of the Glasgow Student Short Story Prize! It comes from the Association for Scottish Literary Studies, who aim to promote the study, teaching and writing of Scottish literature, and to further the study of the languages of Scotland.The ASLS are awarding prizes to all prize winners: the First Prize winner will get a student membership to the ASLS, plus a copy of New Writing Scotland, and the two runners-up will also get copies of New Writing Scotland!
Firstly, I have a student membership, and I've been surprised by just how much you get in a year - all of this:

Secondly, the anthology all our winners will recieve is called 'In the Event of Fire - New Writing Scotland 27', and is edited by Alan Bissett and Liz Niven. It will be out on the 1st August, and is sure to be the best ever NWS yet (and yes, I am saying that purely because I have a short story in there!).

The book will be for sale in all good real or virtual bookshops come August. It's available for early order now from The Book Depository at £5.96, with free delivery worldwide. As of August, it will also be available to order through the Association for Scottish Literary Studies website.
