My very first short story, 'Green Line', will be published in this appropriately green book in August!
The anthology is called 'In the Event of Fire - New Writing Scotland 27', and is edited by Alan Bissett and Liz Niven. It will be out on the 1st August. I like the title of the anthology a lot - I quite like the cover too.
Cool!
The book will be for sale in all good real or virtual bookshops come August. It's available for early order now from The Book Depository at £5.96, with free delivery worldwide. As of August, it will also be available to order through the Association for Scottish Literary Studies website.

Congratulations! Where can we buy it?
Congratulations. When you say your very first short story, do you mean your very firsrt short story, or the first short story you've hd published?
It's a pity they only put out one volume a year. Still, it's a publication that was somewhere on my radar but not causing the big blips. I'll certainly have a read of one or two and get a flavour for the standard.
Cheers for that. I'm intending on getting back into writing myself over the summer, as the pains of university has fought off, for some time, my creative side.
For info, you mention the book is available for pre-order at £7.55 from Waterstones. You can go one better as The Book Depository has it at £5.96, with free delivery worldwide.
I managed to delete that post while trying to update it. Oh well. I was trying to say that The Book Depository is the place to buy the book, great price - Thank you for the link to that, Stewart. It was really nice to hear from you and fifecat. And Stewart, best wishes with getting back to writing this summer, I know what you mean about the pains of university, deadlines and so on can certainly be a creative restriction. It's important to be doing it just for yourself, at leisure, I think. I am a selfish git though.
